Ha-ran forgives Chan as he uncovers missing memories, while Na-na’s disappearance and You-gyum’s injury raise tension in In Your Radiant Season ep. 9.
In Your Radiant Season Episode 9 Recap: Ha-young Admits Her Feelings
In Your Radiant Season episode 9 opens with Ha-ran confronting Chan about the pens, demanding the truth. Chan explains that he had seen a similar pen in the States and was shocked by how much it resembled hers. After returning to the US, he bought a new pen and had it engraved. Hearing his explanation, Ha-ran forgives him for hiding the truth, finally putting the issue to rest.
Elsewhere, Na-na tells Mr. Park that she plans to retire and move to France, insisting that her hospital visit was just a routine checkup. At home, Chan wrestles with guilt over lying to Ha-ran, and a sudden metallic clicking sound triggers fragments of his missing memories. Meanwhile, Tae-suk wakes to find Ha-young cooking for him. She admits she thought he had feelings for her and boldly confesses her own, urging him to start reciprocating them. Tae-suk insists he does not see her romantically, leaving Ha-young frustrated and him quietly conflicted.
At the hospital, You-gyum reassures Ha-dam that his foot will heal in a week, asking her to focus on her studies despite her fussing over him. Back at the atelier, Na-na delegates more of her workload to Ha-ran, instructing her to oversee the visuals for the upcoming fashion editorial. Afterward, Na-na examines the mysterious contents of her locked cabinet, worried about whether she has enough time. Ha-young later corners Tae-suk in the elevator, bombarding him with information about herself, further complicating their dynamic.
Since a new script requires a Milky Way scene, Chan heads to a campsite, with Ha-ran joining him. While stargazing, Chan temporarily loses his hearing for a few seconds, a reminder of the stress and lingering gaps in his memories. Returning home, he begins writing about his story with Ha-ran, reflecting on their connection and the moments that have brought them closer.

Ha-dam Learns About You-gyum’s Surgery
That morning, Ha-dam’s family sends her off with well-wishes for her exams. On her way, she stops by the hospital to visit You-gyum and is stunned to learn that he will need surgery soon. The injury is far more serious than he had let on. Shaken by the news, she considers skipping her exams, but You-gyum insists she focus on them, urging her to go.
Meanwhile, Ha-young arrives at work and chatters enthusiastically with Tae-suk. Once again, he makes it clear that he does not see her romantically, leaving her frustration simmering beneath her cheerful demeanor.

At the same time, Chan visits a psychiatrist, who suggests that his temporary loss of hearing may result from the stress of lying. Determined to eventually tell Ha-ran the truth, Chan decides to fill in the gaps in his memory first. He meets Su-jin at the hospital and asks what she knows. She claims ignorance, but a flashback shows her entering the lab that day to find Chan in the middle of a fight with Hyeok-chan. During the confrontation, Chan had told Hyeok-chan that he had been speaking to Ha-ran while pretending to be him.
Later, Chan returns to the cafe. Ha-ran notices a message on his phone from his father wishing him a happy birthday in advance. Inspired, Ha-ran begins planning a surprise for Chan, making her intentions increasingly obvious as she sets her plan in motion.
Na-na Goes Missing and Tae-suk Faces His Past
The next day, Na-na and Mr. Park explore their hometown in Chuncheon. Na-na’s house is gone, but the tree from one of their old photos still stands. They recreate the image and enjoy the moment, laughing and reminiscing—until Mr. Park steps away briefly. When he returns, Na-na has vanished.
With her CSAT exams complete, Ha-dam focuses on planning You-gyum’s recovery and shares her strategy with him. Suddenly, You-gyum receives a call from someone who has found Na-na, who appears lost and disoriented. He asks Ha-dam to pick up some fruit and then calls Na-na’s phone. Mr. Park answers, and You-gyum tells him her location. Mr. Park rushes to a nearby cafe and reunites with Na-na, though she seems mentally distant, absorbed in her own thoughts.
At the office, a cabinet nearly falls on Ha-young, but Tae-suk intervenes just in time to protect her. She insists they need to talk and, over drinks, recounts the various incidents involving him. Tae-suk calmly explains that he acted only because she is part of Na-na’s family. Ha-young smiles in understanding and tells him he can leave, but once he goes, she breaks down in tears.
A flashback reveals why Tae-suk has carried guilt for so long: he was supposed to drive Ha-young’s family on the day of the accident but was hospitalized with a high fever and couldn’t go. Now, he seems to blame himself for her parents’ death, a burden he quietly carries.
