With this project, Almonte brings together the rhythmic heart of salsa and the broader reach of pop and rock, creating a sound that feels both rooted and expansive.

Featuring celebrated Venezuelan vocalist Ronald Borjas, “Imagínate Conmigo,” pairs soaring melodies with intricate percussion and strong vocal chemistry. As a result, the song offers an early look at the emotional and musical world of Conversando Con La Luna. Almonte will also premiere the track’s music video on YouTube on Friday, March 20, at 12 p.m. EST.

Conversando Con La Luna by Anthony Almonte

The album explores Almonte’s Latin roots while embracing a broad musical palette. Although salsa anchors the record, he layers it with pop and rock influences to highlight his range as a vocalist, songwriter, and producer. At its center, Conversando Con La Luna reflects on love in all its forms, from excitement and vulnerability to the fear of surrendering too deeply.

Conceptually, the album follows a personal transformation, tracing a protagonist who leaves an older version of himself behind and steps into an uncertain future. Throughout that journey, Almonte combines introspective storytelling with the rhythmic language of salsa, giving the record both timeless character and modern energy.

Recorded with a group of young, highly skilled musicians, the album carries a fresh and contemporary spirit. Co-producer and pianist Jonathan Montes plays a key role in shaping that sound, helping craft the record’s rich and layered arrangements.

In addition, Almonte brings together an impressive lineup of collaborators from across Latin and rock music, including Stevie Van Zandt on Caminando, Alexander Abreu on Rompecorazones, Ronald Borjas on Imagínate Conmigo, and Gonzalo Rubalcaba on Como Dejar De Quererte. The album also features Gilberto Santa Rosa, Marc Quiñones, Charlie Giordano, Jeremy Bosch, and Carlos Henriquez.

Seasoned Performer Steps Into the Spotlight

Born in New York City in 1992, Anthony Almonte discovered his love for music early through the rhythms of bomba and plena during family trips to Puerto Rico. He began formal training at six years old and later studied with Angel Ruben Rodriguez, Little Johnny Rivero, and Charlie Lagond. By age ten, he was already performing live in New York. From the beginning, he stood out for his rare ability to sing while playing percussion, a skill that continues to define his commanding presence onstage.

Over the years, Anthony Almonte has built an extensive career as both a touring and session musician. He currently performs with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, and he previously spent several years touring with Little Steven and the Disciples of Soul. His recording work includes projects with Little Johnny Rivero, Edwin Bonilla, Carlos Henriquez, and Real Women Have Curves: The Musical, among many others.

His career has also placed him alongside an extraordinary range of artists. He has shared the stage with Paul McCartney, Jackson Browne, Karol G, Fito Páez, Richie Sambora, and Sam Moore, while also collaborating with Eddie Palmieri, Wynton Marsalis, Spanish Harlem Orchestra, Kid Creole and The Coconuts, and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra.

A two-time Grammy nominee, Almonte also appeared in Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band in 2024, as well as Stevie Van Zandt: Disciple and Netflix’s The Christmas Chronicles. Now, with Conversando Con La Luna, he steps fully into the spotlight and delivers a debut that honors salsa’s legacy while pushing it forward through contemporary energy and wide-ranging collaboration.
