Yesterday Episode 5 Recap: “It Felt Like a Living Death”
After Vier tells Kelvin that he means nothing to him anymore, Kelvin loses control and tries to take advantage of him. However, he immediately stops when he sees Vier silent, traumatized, and in tears. Shocked by what he almost did, Kelvin apologizes repeatedly—not only for that moment but also for betraying Vier’s trust.

Soon after, Vier reveals what happened during his kidnapping. The captors brutally beat him and forced him to watch videos of Kelvin’s betrayal over and over again. “It felt like a living death,” he shares. Yet what hurt him most was seeing Kelvin sign the contract with W Group while he was still being held captive, which showed him who Kelvin really was.
Kelvin then tries to explain. He insists he never expected things to go that far or that they would try to kill Vier. Instead, he says he called anyone who could help—including the police and his father—because he believed it was the only way to protect him. However, Vier questions that decision and points out that his father eventually went bankrupt after W Group and KING Group took over VPG Group—because of him.
In the end, Vier looks at Kelvin with emptiness before turning his back on him.
Nana Discovers Kelvin Is Keeping Vier Captive
Lalin confronts Kelvin about exposing the truth about Ken. However, the situation backfires—their father becomes the main suspect and gets arrested, while Ken gets away with it with help from Lalin’s father, who still sees Ken as useful. She also reveals that Ken is already working with her father to find a way to take back the KING Group from Kelvin.
Then Lalin proposes a deal. She asks for Kelvin’s help to acquire Loyde Group so he can secure KING Group. In return, she says she only wants her freedom and what rightfully belongs to her. Meanwhile, Nana—now Lalin’s secretary and Vier’s friend from Chiang Mai—quietly sits across from them and listens to the conversation.

Later, Kelvin decides to visit his father so he can end the mess. Soon after, his secretary Chao suddenly appears. Chao begs for forgiveness and asks for another chance. He also tells Kelvin that Vier still loves him and says he will understand why if he visits the secret bar. Despite this, Kelvin still fires him. Through this conversation, Nana finally realizes the truth—Kelvin has been keeping Vier captive.
Soon after, Nana goes to Kelvin’s house, pretending to deliver treats from Lalin so she can see and possibly free Vier. However, Kelvin knows who she really is. When Nana threatens to call the police, Kelvin counters that he will report her for trespassing and expose her true identity to Lalin. With no choice left, Nana leaves, but Kelvin still gives the treats to Vier.

Kelvin and Vier Visit Khatha in Jail
Kelvin manages to enter Vier’s secret bar and finds their photos covering the room. There, he also reads a letter Vier never got to give him. In it, Vier says he wanted the bar to become their home—the place Kelvin had always wished for. “Let me be your home, a place that brings you warmth and happiness,” the letter reads. The words leave Kelvin filled with regret.

Meanwhile, Nana grows increasingly suspicious. She keeps hovering around Lalin’s office, especially her laptop and safe. Later, Kelvin visits Nana, and she tells him how deeply his betrayal has affected Vier, leaving him mentally scarred. The truth leaves Kelvin speechless.
Soon after, Kelvin returns home, goes down to the basement, and silently removes the chains from Vier’s legs. Then he takes him to the jail to meet Mr. Khatha.
During the confrontation, Kelvin plays a recording of Ken betraying his own father. However, Khatha still believes Ken is working to free him. Kelvin then reveals the truth: Lalin secretly recorded the conversation during their dinner—the same night Kelvin asked for her help. He also exposes that Ken and Lalin are now married, and Ken has taken her family’s surname, becoming the vice president of Loyde Group.
In the end, Khatha begs Kelvin for help. He says he regrets what he did to Kelvin’s mother and grandfather by stealing KING Group. Kelvin agrees to help—but only if Khatha admits that he married into the family to steal the company and that Ken is his illegitimate child. Khatha confesses. Yet despite the admission, Kelvin still refuses to help him get out of jail.
Vier Rejects Kelvin’s Love in Yesterday Episode 5
Kelvin and Vier return to their hotel, the V&V Group, where Kelvin shows Vier that he kept their room intact during the year Vier was away, preserving their memories. He also shows Vier the share transfer agreement, insisting he never lied, that he’ll still transfer her shares to him. Vier, however, throws it aside, saying he no longer cares about money.
Kelvin believes Vier still loves him, especially after seeing his private bar, but Vier clarifies the real reason: he didn’t allow Kelvin to see it so Kelvin would stop being delusional. “If I were to care, it’d be because I felt like getting to spend time with you,” Vier says.
Kelvin admits that his initial plan was to use Vier, but after Vier bailed him out of jail, he realized that Vier was the one person who would stand by him for life. He confesses, “I truly love you.” Vier, however, insists he no longer loves Kelvin. Kelvin responds that he will make Vier love him again.
The next day, Vier questions Kelvin after being let go, saying he has already given him everything he wants. Kelvin says he simply wants to be with him and take care of him. Vier repeats that he has no feelings for Kelvin anymore. Despite this, Kelvin takes him back to the basement—not in chains—and says, “I’ll make you love me again. We’ll be together forever.”
Kelvin Provides Psychiatrist for Vier
Kelvin teams up with Lalin to take down Loyde Group, specifically targeting Ken and Lalin’s father. He confides in her, asking why someone who once truly loved him could suddenly claim they have no feelings. Lalin suggests there must be a reason, but Kelvin believes Vier needs a doctor.
Later, Lalin speaks with her brother Lavid about their missing younger brother, Lalit. When they realize Lalit is working as Vier’s secretary, they see hope of reconnecting with him—but with Vier held by Kelvin, it won’t be easy. Lalin recommends Lavid to Kelvin as a psychiatrist for Vier.
Kelvin explains that Vier’s past trauma may have caused him to lose his feelings and be unable to forgive. Vier resists treatment and argues with Kelvin, but Lavid intervenes, saying Kelvin should leave Vier alone to allow him to open up. Lavid also reveals that Lalit is their younger brother, whom they have been searching for but haven’t yet met. Vier tries to call Lalit in Malaysia but gets no answer.
Later, Lavid asks if Kelvin ever hurt Vier. Vier responds that Kelvin is the one hurting himself. Lavid also asks why Vier hasn’t sought help from the police or his family. Vier admits he feels pity for Kelvin and still cares about him.
Before leaving, Lavid advises Kelvin not to pressure or demand anything from Vier. Kelvin decides to follow that advice and says to Vier, “I want you to be happy and become who we used to be.”
