Flair release their intense new single “Nausea,” offering a raw preview of their upcoming EP For Lack of a Better Word, set to arrive July 10 via Revo Pro.

Glasgow-based post-indie band Flair return with their latest single “Nausea,” released on March 13, 2026. The track offers the first glimpse into the band’s upcoming second EP, For Lack of a Better Word, scheduled to arrive on July 10 through Revo Pro. With the new release, the group leans further into their gritty, emotionally charged sound while exploring darker themes and heavier sonic textures.

Nausea” pushes the band into more intense territory. The song opens with tight, pulsing basslines before jagged guitars and strained vocals gradually build a tense atmosphere. As the track unfolds, the sound becomes increasingly claustrophobic, reflecting the emotional turmoil at its core. Through this approach, Flair capture the dizzying spiral of intrusive thoughts and the unsettling rush that comes with losing control.

From Local Gigs to Growing Recognition

Flair first formed in 2019, but the band truly found its footing several years later. After relentless gigging and time spent refining their sound in the studio, their momentum surged in 2023 following the release of their debut EP and breakout single “Run Away.”

The attention soon expanded beyond local circles, earning them a shortlist nomination for Best Live Artist at the Scottish Live Music Awards in 2025 while attracting airplay across national and international radio stations. Publications such as The Glasgow Times, The Scotsman, and Belfast Telegraph also highlighted the band as a rising act from the city.

Since then, Flair have continued to expand their reach. They have shared stages with Pentire and Arkayla and secured slots at festivals including Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival. Still, Glasgow remains central to the band’s identity, shaping both their attitude and sonic direction.

Drawing inspiration from artists such as Wunderhorse, The War on Drugs, and Fontaines D.C., Flair combine sweeping melodies with sharp-edged energy to craft a sound that reflects the city’s restless spirit.

According to vocalist and lyricist Tony Collum, the new single emerged from a particularly intense creative period. The band wrote “Nausea” during bleak winter studio sessions in Glasgow in late 2025, channeling the pressures they faced at the time.

Lineup changes, turbulent relationships, and ambitious expectations all fed into the song’s themes. As a result, “Nausea” stands as one of Flair’s most personal and emotionally exposed tracks to date.
