I Don’t Like Mondays. returns with their new single “マスカレード Masquerade,” continuing to expand their international presence and dynamic rock sound.

I Don’t Like Mondays. kicks off 2026 with their first digital single of the year, “マスカレード Masquerade,” signaling an energetic start to a high-speed year. The track serves as the tie-in for Japanese makeup brand KATE’s original web movie HENSHIN THE FIRST, which is now rolling out across Asia. Inspired by the collaboration theme “Strong, Beautiful, HENSHIN,” the project blends KATE’s bold philosophy with the iconic Kamen Rider universe, pushing the band into striking new visual and sonic territory.

Additionally, the single also includes a self-cover of “Just Like That,” a song the band originally wrote for Hiromitsu Kitayama. Reimagined through the band’s own lens, it showcases their signature energy and creative perspective. Meanwhile, I Don’t Like Mondays. has launched their TOXIC ASIA TOUR 2026, kicking off in Singapore on 1 March.

This marks their largest Asia tour to date, covering five cities and introducing them to new markets. In addition, Singapore, a first-time tour stop, delivered an especially electric response, highlighting the band’s growing influence beyond Japan.

Riding this momentum, the band is focused on expanding internationally while remaining true to their sound and style. With “Masquerade” leading the charge, I Don’t Like Mondays. sets the stage for a fast-moving 2026, drawing attention across Asia and beyond.

About the Band

I Don’t Like Mondays. formed in 2012 and consists of YU (vocals), CHOJI (guitar), KENJI (bass), and SHUKI (drums). They debuted in 2014 with the album Play, quickly establishing a signature sound that fuses stylish rock, funk grooves, and danceable pop hooks. Their music aims to uplift and energize, turning everyday moments into vibrant, celebratory experiences. The band writes and produces collaboratively, often mixing English and Japanese lyrics to reflect their international influences. Over their career, they have released six studio albums, two EPs, and more than 30 singles.

I Don’t Like Mondays. expanded their global profile in 2022 with “PAINT,” which served as the opening theme for the internationally renowned anime One Piece. The song introduced them to audiences far beyond Japan, broadening their fanbase worldwide.

Rooted in the sounds of the 1980s, the four-piece blends Japanese and Western musical influences with precision and groove. Their meticulous approach to composition and performance allows them to transcend genres while maintaining a cohesive, energetic sound.
