15-year-old artist Olie Beckett is back with an addictive new track about an infatuation turned fixation in “New Obsession.”
On February 21, singer-songwriter Olie Beckett dropped the latest addition to his singles, “New Obsession.” With every release, the 15-year-old rising star is passionately forging his own path in the industry and shows no signs of stopping.
Hate me
But you can’t break me
It’s come to something that I need
I’d go to any height for you
“New Obsession” is a dreamy blend of R&B and pop elements, reminiscent of hits in the same sphere. Olie’s vocals still carry their youthful charm, yet with an unmistakable dramatic flair. However, the track takes a more mature turn, centering on an innocent crush that borders on obsession. The driven concept is expressed through warm synths and a hypnotic chorus courtesy of Olie.
Beyond its cool exterior, “New Obsession” hides a vulnerable side that is slowly uncovered as the song reaches the chorus. It reflects love in a chaotically beautiful manner, slightly unhinged but freeing.

Olie’s Youthful Beginnings
There’s no doubt that Olie has a passion for music. He first began dreaming of becoming a DJ after seeing Marshmello perform. His goals only reached new heights because of his family, who exposed him to more music. They supported his dream by enrolling him in vocal lessons and a choir, as well as providing him with production tools to explore.
Not long after, Olie took the next step by becoming an artist who not only sings but also creates music. His love for songwriting also grew as he drew inspiration from creative icons such as Harry Styles, SZA, and Ariana Grande. At only 15, his artistic sound is steadily coming together.
Olie’s latest single is out now on all streaming platforms! Give it a listen, and his songs might be your newest obsession.
