On January 23, LA-based band The Vincenzos released their latest single, “Lay Down.” It’s a dynamic track that seamlessly combines electrifying instrumentals with a hopeful message.
According to frontman Vincent Brue, “Lay Down” came to be after coming across an old voice memo of the song’s main riff and essentially finishing the song in one take. He described the songwriting experience as “magical,” stating how the entire process “felt more like an exorcism than a conscious effort at creativity.”
The heart-pumping track reflects unrestrained love that emerges when you finally let your guard down. Breaking away from the hostility in today’s world, it bravely embraces vulnerability and peace.
It’s about love and loss and longing, letting your guard down and letting love in, in defiance of an increasingly violent, hostile world. It’s a call to lay down your arms, a call to love, a call to peace.

The Vincenzos was founded by lead vocalist Vincent Brue after forming a bond at Culver City Cinema Bar’s acclaimed open mics. Their undeniable chemistry led them to perform at venues such as The Troubadour, Viper Room, and Harvard & Stone. Known for their genre-defying sound and earnest lyrics, they quickly captured the hearts of the city’s locals and beyond.
In May 2025, the band officially made their debut with their first album, To Live and Chenz in L.A.
