Melody of Secrets episode 8 brings another twist to the story of Tankhun and Botpleng. Secrets, betrayals, and illusions push their lives further into chaos.
In Melody of Secrets episode 8, which aired on January 30, Botpleng uncovers another truth about his life—one that proves everything he believed was built on lies. Tankhun also realizes something unsettling about Inspector Dao. Meanwhile, the truth behind Thunphob’s death finally comes to light.

The Daisy Bell and the Music Note in Melody of Secrets Episode 8
Melody of Secrets episode 8 opens with Botpleng and Tankhun bringing flowers to Thunphob’s grave. Pleng asks Tan if he still wants to stay by his side after everything they have discovered. Tan assures him that he does. In front of Thunphob’s grave, Pleng breaks down and admits that if his mother truly killed Thunphob, the guilt would haunt him forever.
As Pleng struggles to hold himself together, Tan starts singing “Daisy Bell.” Pleng cries harder, this time in Tan’s arms. He asks Tan if he forgives him, and Tan tells him that he does.
Later, the two sit on a bench and comfort each other. Soon after, they walk toward a river, where Tan gives Pleng a bracelet adorned with a daisy flower.
I know there are times when you want to be alone—when you want to spend time with yourself—and I won’t disturb you. But I don’t want you to think that you have no one. I want you to know that you’ll always find me right here. You can’t stop my heart from following you.
In return, Pleng gives Tan a bracelet with a music note. He tells Tan that he is not the second violin in Canon in B—he is the first note in his Daisy Bell.
Inspector Dao’s Intent
Elsewhere in Melody of Secrets episode 8, Tan spots Inspector Dao running off, while Pleng returns home. Later, Nim hands Tan an observation file containing details of Tanu’s interrogation and confession. Tan asks Nim for the interrogation video so his team can review it.
Meanwhile, Pleng confronts his mother about what she meant when she implied responsibility for Thunphob’s death. He feels conflicted because Tanu already confessed to killing Thunphob. As Pleng talks with his mother and grandmother, Inspector Dao suddenly arrives at the house.
Elsewhere, Mile and Jen meet Tan and reveal the truth about Pleng’s father’s death. His father was not murdered—he died from a heart attack. It turns out that Dao’s father cleared the case, and Nim reveals that it was the very first case Dao handled.
After connecting all the dots, Tan excuses himself and rushes to find Pleng. By then, Dao has already kidnapped Pleng along with his mother and grandmother. Meanwhile, Tan and Mile track Pleng using the GPS Tan previously gave him.

Dao’s Past in Melody of Secrets Episode 8
In Melody of Secrets episode 8, Dao’s backstory comes to light. Her father served as the family doctor of Pleng’s family, but her mother believed he was having an affair with Pleng’s mother.
Consumed by jealousy and suspicion, Dao’s mother eventually took her own life. When Dao confronted her father about the alleged affair, he denied everything. As he prepared to visit Pleng’s family, Dao pushed him down the stairs, causing his death.
Back in the present, Dao reveals that she orchestrated the killings to lure Pleng out. She also admits that she instructed someone to give Pleng the diary. Dao explains that she wanted Tan to finally realize that she was never second-best.
Tan arrives and tells her that she will always remain number two, because he will always be number one in their class. He adds that Dao’s plan fell apart the moment Tanu entered the picture. To regain control, Dao traced Tanu’s connection to Pleng’s family.
The Truth About Botpleng’s Life
As Tan and Dao confront each other, Tanu suddenly appears and restrains Dao. He reveals that Pleng’s mother did not kill Thunphob—he did. When Tan asks why, Tanu explains that Thunphob was about to expose the truth: Botpleng was already dead.
The revelation shocks everyone, especially since Pleng is tied up in front of them.
Tanu then apologizes to someone named “Tontharn.” A flashback follows, showing Mrs. Kan with Botpleng. She speaks with Tanu and later with his son, Tontharn. Tontharn closely resembles Pleng, which leads Mrs. Kan to grow fond of him and even allow him to call her “mom.”
The episode reveals that the real Botpleng—not Tontharn—was the one in a relationship with Thunphob. Later, Melody of Secrets episode 8 shows how Botpleng died. A fire breaks out, trapping both Tharn and Pleng, ultimately causing Pleng’s death.
Back in the present, Pleng—who is actually Tontharn—struggles to process the truth. As fragments of his memories resurface, Mrs. Kan tries to call him Botpleng, but his mother stops her and states that Pleng has been gone for a long time.
Tan goes to Tontharn’s side and comforts him as he breaks down under the weight of everything he has learned. Melody of Secrets episode 8 ends with Pleng and Tan planning to turn Tan’s place into their shared “home.”

Episode 9 Preview and Release Date
Episode 9 teases more flashbacks involving Botpleng and Tontharn. It also shows Thunphob questioning Mrs. Kan about the real Botpleng. Meanwhile, Inspector Dao finally ends up behind bars.
