Making Things Right in No Tail to Tell Episode 2
No Tail to Tell episode 2 opens with Eun-ho fleeing the scene while Si-yeol dismisses her as unhinged. Shortly after, Eun-ho realizes that her powers have weakened significantly. Desperate for answers, she causes a disturbance at a temple until Lord Pagun appears. He delivers the truth without sugarcoating it: Eun-ho has committed a grave sin, and her most recent actions have indirectly caused a human’s death.
The story then shifts to Choi, CEO Lee Yoon’s secretary, as he buries Bong-chang, the former driver. Earlier, Lee had planned to frame Bong-chang for the hit-and-run. However, when Si-yeol refused to accept the false confession, Bong-chang backed out. Enraged, Lee murdered him. By manipulating events in Lee’s favor, Eun-ho triggered a chain reaction that ultimately led to Bong-chang’s death.
Back in the present, Eun-ho decides to atone in the only way she knows how—by granting a genuinely good wish. She brings Si-yeol to his home, openly using her powers. Si-yeol reacts with awe, and in his excitement, he grabs her hand. The contact catches Eun-ho off guard, forcing her to confront her growing attraction to him. Regaining her composure, she pushes him to make a wish for justice.
This time, the magic works as intended. Restored CCTV footage surfaces, clearly showing Lee Yoon hitting Woo-seok and fleeing the scene. Authorities later discover Bong-chang’s body. Eun-ho immediately cuts ties with Lee and forces him to confess to all his crimes. As the scales rebalance, Eun-ho recovers a portion of her lost powers.
Before leaving, she gives Si-yeol a suitcase as a parting gift, hinting at an upcoming overseas opportunity. The two trade playful remarks, with Eun-ho teasing that he will soon become rich enough to hire her as a client. When Si-yeol asks for her name, she blushes and vanishes.
Fate’s Playful Switch
Soon after, Hong Yeon-su, the team leader of the South Korean Soccer Association, announces that Si-yeol has officially replaced Woo-seok as the striker on the youth national team. Before leaving for training, Si-yeol visits Woo-seok, and the two promise to face each other on the field again someday.
The story then jumps ahead several years. Si-yeol builds a successful career overseas after joining the British football club Thames. Although the team performs well under his leadership, Si-yeol rules as an infamously strict captain. He bans victory celebrations, monitors his teammates’ diets, and enforces rigid discipline. As a result, the team eagerly awaits his departure. Unfortunately for them, Thames renews his contract for another five years despite its financial struggles. Si-yeol remains one of the highest-paid players in the league and continues to dominate the scoring charts.

Back home, Woo-seok’s life takes a darker turn. With their fates reversed, his performance declines sharply. He loses his place in the local football division and fails to impress during another round of tryouts. Even his former coach turns him away. Although his father attempts to encourage him, Woo-seok sinks deeper into frustration and despair.
As Si-yeol’s fame grows, his face floods South Korea through advertisements and brand endorsements. Eun-ho watches with irritation before realizing that he is finally wealthy enough to become her client. When Si-yeol returns to the country, she approaches him. However, he fails to recognize her and mistakes her for an ordinary fan. He casually signs her shirt and walks away. Offended, Eun-ho breaks open the suitcase she once gave him and slips her business card inside.

Eun-ho Grants a Wish
Si-yeol has grown noticeably self-absorbed, frequently boasting about his fame and his newly published book. Yeon-su, now acting as his agent, finds his behavior amusing and insists that his charm remains intact. Si-yeol later attempts to reconnect with Woo-seok, but Woo-seok avoids him, spending his nights working as a delivery driver instead.
The story shifts back to Eun-ho as she drifts through one hobby after another, discarding each as soon as boredom sets in. At one point, she even creates a wildly successful K-pop group, only to abandon them the moment they stop entertaining her. Despite her distractions, one irritation lingers. Si-yeol still has not contacted her, and she needs money—specifically, enough to buy a mansion.
Impatient, Eun-ho tracks him down while he is in the middle of an ice bath. The shock finally jogs his memory, and he recognizes her. Eun-ho frames the encounter as a generous favor, dramatically announcing that she is willing to take him on as a client. To her disbelief, Si-yeol turns her down. He insists that he has no wishes left to make. In his eyes, he already has everything he wants.
After Eun-ho leaves, Woo-seok unexpectedly arrives to deliver Si-yeol’s food. The reunion immediately turns tense. Woo-seok’s resentment simmers just beneath the surface, while Si-yeol struggles to bridge the gap between them. Wanting to help, Si-yeol suggests using Eun-ho’s wish-granting powers to fix things. At that very moment, Yeon-su receives shocking news that hints at an impending shift.
The next morning, reality flips. Woo-seok wakes up wealthy, famous, and living the life Si-yeol once had. Meanwhile, Si-yeol opens his eyes to find himself broke and stuck as an unremarkable local football player. Their lives have clearly been exchanged.
No Tail to Tell episode 2 wraps up with Eun-ho soon appearing and calmly confirms what has happened. She explains that she granted Woo-seok’s wish—but on her own terms. How a wish comes true, after all, has always been entirely up to her.
No Tail to Tell Episode 2 Review
No Tail to Tell episode 2 leans too heavily on its teaser to make sense of its own story. Viewers should not need a preview of the next episode to understand a major plot decision. Yet the show withholds the reason behind Eun-ho switching Si-yeol and Woo-seok’s lives until the teaser spells it out. As a result, the cliffhangers feel more confusing than compelling.
Moreover, the series struggles to justify its supporting conflicts. The story repeatedly returns to CEO Lee Yoon and Woo-seok. But it never gives viewers a strong reason to care about either of them. Instead of sharpening its focus, the episode scatters its attention across multiple side plots. Consequently, the central narrative begins to feel cluttered and unfocused.
Several character choices further weaken the episode. Having Si-yeol forget Eun-ho, only to remember her almost immediately, adds nothing to the story. Likewise, the decision to turn Woo-seok into a part-time delivery worker raises unnecessary questions.
More troubling is Si-yeol’s inconsistent characterization. Earlier, he appeared grounded and morally upright. After the time jump, however, he suddenly comes across as rigid and arrogant. The shift feels abrupt and unexplained, making it difficult to understand who he truly is. At times, it seems as though the show itself has little interest in defining him.
Even the comedic moments fail to land. The timeline remains unclear, and the abundance of small, disconnected conflicts prevents the story from building a strong, driving mystery. That said, the series does manage to spark some intrigue through Eun-ho’s immediate attraction to Si-yeol. In addition, Hye-yoon’s performance adds charm to Eun-ho’s cocky, fox-like persona.
Still, charm alone cannot carry the show. Unless the drama tightens its storytelling and commits to a clearer narrative direction, it risks losing viewers before its larger ideas have a chance to take hold.
Catch the next episode of No Tail to Tell on January 23 via Netflix. New episodes arrives every Friday and Saturday at 9:50 PM KST and 8:50 PM PHT.
