Pleng plans to leave Tankhun in Melody of Secrets episode 5. He is afraid that he might be the one who killed Thunphob.
In Melody of Secrets episode 5, which aired on January 9, 2026, Pleng worries about his forgotten memories. With all the case’s links pointing to his family, he thinks he may be connected to Thunphob’s death. Pleng even believes that he might be the one who killed him. However, Tankhun assures him that if his memories only bring pain, he does not need to remember anything.

Pleng’s Confusion With His Relationship With Tan in Melody of Secrets Episode 5
Melody of Secrets episode 5 begins with Pleng and Tan being intimate. Tan receives a call from Inspector Dao informing him about the CCTV footage. He watches the video Dao sends and sees the man who ran him over in the previous episode.
Dao tells him not to tell Pleng anything yet. Elsewhere, Pleng drives Tan to the station. Pleng refuses to go with him because of Dao, but Tan assures him that pretending to be Pleng’s lover was a request he made to Dao.
Tan is about to kiss Pleng, but Pleng turns his face away. Later, Tan and Dao discuss the case. All the victims and the suspect are linked to Pleng’s family. Thus, Dao becomes convinced that Pleng has something to do with it. However, Tan says that Pleng might also be a victim.
Soon after, Mile and Pleng listen to a recording of Dao and Tan’s conversation. Pleng shares with Mile how confused he feels about his emotions for Tan, given their situation.
Elsewhere, Pleng gets attacked again by the same man while he is with Tan by the river. Luckily, Tan comes to his aid and helps him. At the hospital, Tan gives Pleng the microphone that Pleng sneaked into Tan’s coat to record his conversation with Dao.
Tan and Pleng Talk to Pleng’s Grandmother
After leaving the hospital, Pleng and Tan go to Pleng’s house and talk to his grandmother. Tan tries to extract information from her, but she refuses to say anything—even about whether she knew Thunphob.
As she is about to walk away, Pleng asks why they never mentioned Thunphob to him before. His grandmother tells him that it is not her obligation—especially since Pleng cannot remember him.
Later, Pleng tells Tan that he has been seeing a psychiatrist because of his grandmother. He says it was meant to help him recover his memories faster.
Soon after, Pleng dreams about something and calls out for his mother. He wakes up in bed with his grandmother and his psychiatrist beside him.
Pleng’s psychiatrist recommends another medicine. She then speaks to Pleng’s grandmother and says that Pleng’s memories might be returning.

Tan Looks for Pleng in Melody of Secrets Episode 5
Jen visits Mile in his office to ask if he knows where Pleng is. Mile says that he has not had contact with Pleng for days. Elsewhere in Melody of Secrets episode 5, Tan and Jen go to Pleng’s house.
Tan sneaks into Pleng’s room and tries to wake him up. When Pleng wakes, he asks Tan who he is. Later, Pleng wakes up again and hears voices talking.
Mile asks Pleng if he can remember him. Pleng playfully taps his forehead and says yes, but he adds that he cannot remember what happened and feels confused.
Jen checks Pleng and says that everything seems normal. However, Tan points out that Pleng cannot remember what happened. Jen explains that it might be a result of his memory loss.
Later, Pleng says that he has been taking medicine that puts him to sleep. When he wakes up, everything feels blurry. Jen asks what medicine he is taking, but Pleng cannot remember. Jen says it could be a hypnotic process that allows someone to remember or forget memories.
Soon after, Tan finds Pleng on the rooftop, visibly worried. Pleng wonders what memory everyone is trying to keep from him. Tan tries to talk him out of it.
If it hurts so much that you need to forget, then I don’t want you to remember it.
Dao and Her Case
Elsewhere in the episode, Dao becomes frustrated with how Tan allowed Pleng to join their discussion about the case. Dao says it was not right to involve him. However, Pleng reasons that he was not there as a journalist. Since the case is closely tied to his family, he wants to help.
Dao discusses the victims and suspects and then brings up Pleng’s father’s case from years ago, which may also be connected.
Soon after, Dao receives a call from Pleng’s grandmother. She orders Dao to prevent the police from digging deeper into the wind power concession case—Pleng’s father’s case. Although Dao agrees, she does the opposite.

“I’ll Hold You Like This” — Tan
Pleng goes to the hospital with Tan to have his cast removed. He writes something on Tan’s cast, saying it is a tradition. When a nurse calls Tan, he asks her to take a photo of the cast before removing it.
When Tan reads what Pleng wrote—“Good luck. Love you. Goodbye.”—he immediately runs after Pleng but cannot find him. Tan then receives a text from Pleng saying that he does not want to be anyone’s Botpleng anymore.
Elsewhere in Melody of Secrets episode 5, Tan goes to Pleng’s house and sees Pleng’s diary. He hears Pleng’s voice telling him to put the diary down. Pleng says that he has decided not to see Tan again and asks him not to bother him anymore.
Pleng says that he cannot hide his true self, especially since he cannot even remember his past. However, Tan tells him that no matter what his memories hold, he will stay with him.
Pleng then asks Tan what he would do if he were the one who killed Thunphob. Tan hugs Pleng and caresses his back.
I will hold you like this. Whatever you ask, I will do it for you. If you want to remember, I will help you remember. Even if you remember everything and forget about me, I will remember you. No matter what your memory holds, I will love you—in the past, in the present, or in the future.
Tan and Pleng share another intimate moment as Melody of Secrets episode 5 ends.
Episode 6 Preview and Release Date
Episode 6 teases Jen asking Pleng who he is and where he is during a session. Pleng questions his own identity. He tells Tan that maybe he loves him enough for his identity to recognize him. Tan tells Pleng that he will always be the second violin in Pleng’s Canon in D.
