Viu kicks off the new year right with the launch of Viu Shorts, featuring bingeable, bite-sized dramas!
OTT streaming service Viu has announced a fresh addition to its catalogue with Viu Shorts. The new section offers a variety of short-form dramas for busy days or late-night marathons. It seeks to provide users with a wider range of entertainment, pairing its extensive long-form series and film selection.

We are thrilled to add a new facet to our service with the launch of Viu Shorts. This new feature brings viewers fast-paced storytelling in a 1–3 minute episodic format, perfectly complementing Viu’s extensive offering of premium long-form series and movies. With these bite-sized dramas now part of our offering, we aim to engage our audience according to their content preferences and provide enjoyable viewing for every moment.

Viu Shorts: Introducing the World of Vertical Dramas
Adhering to their mobile-first strategy, Viu Shorts aims to satisfy the increasing demand for short-form content. From romance to fantasy, it contains an expanding multi-genre and multi-lingual library. Available subtitles are also offered in English, Chinese, Indonesian, Thai, and many more languages.
The shorts section has been added seamlessly into the app, appearing as a new navigation tab for users to explore. Free users can watch selected content with additional ads. On the other hand, premium subscribers can enjoy the full drama library with unlimited access.
In addition, Viu promises an exciting lineup of shorts coming to the platform through partnerships. Micro-drama distributors Rising Joy and KT Studiogenie, as well as producers China Huace, 1001 Frames, and Youhug Media are notable collaborators.

Short-form Dramas to Watch Right Now
Alongside the launch, a dynamic array of vertical dramas is now available on the app.
Must-watch titles include Pear Perfect starring Shen Qingli and Gu Heng as their paths cross in the midst of personal tragedies. Another addition is The Most Painful Kiss in the World led by a shaman’s daughter who can absorb others’ pain through touch.
Turning up the adrenaline, thrilling dramas such as My Husband Murdered Me and Becoming the Wife of a Dark Cult Overlord are at the top of the list.
My Husband Murdered Me is Hyang-mi’s revenge tale after her husband harms their family to be with his mistress. Meanwhile, Becoming the Wife of a Dark Cult Overlord features a protagonist thrust into danger when she discovers her husband’s dark secret.
