Dear X episode 6 opens with Ji-sun barging into Jun-seo’s home. She’s stunned to find Ah-jin there wearing Jun-seo’s shirt. Ah-jin claims she came because Ji-sun keeps trying to sabotage her career. Ji-sun lashes out and starts hitting her, but Jun-seo arrives and pulls them apart.
Later at work, Ah-jin films a romantic scene with In-gang. After shooting, he asks to talk in private and begins sharing his past. He explains that he originally debuted in a band, but his career only took off after his junior, Ji-hyeok, had an allergic reaction from eating a macaron with nuts. With Ji-hyeok hospitalized, In-gang was offered an MC job that launched his fame.
However, In-gang confesses that he knew about the nuts in the macaron and stayed silent. Ji-hyeok still texts him warm messages, and the guilt eats at him. In-gang then adds that he watched the video of Ah-jin and Le-na and believes she can rise without resorting to such fights.
That night, Detective Park calls Ah-jin and orders her to meet him, threatening to expose her past. She follows the address to a club’s VIP room, where people are drugged and making out. Detective Park phones her again, warning that this is where her future is headed if he destroys her.
When Ah-jin leaves the club, In-gang spots her. She can’t explain why she’s there, leaving him both confused and suspicious.

Jae-oh, Jun-seo, and Ah-jin Work Together
Meanwhile, Jae-oh begins his new job with a private investigator who specializes in digging up people’s secrets. His first assignment is to gather information on Detective Park—likely the same man Le-na hired. Jae-oh tails the detective and even manages to clone his phone.

However, he panics when he hears Park talking to a reporter about Ah-jin “killing” her father. Worried, Jae-oh immediately calls Jun-seo and asks for the truth. Jun-seo explains that Ah-jin didn’t kill her father and that Park has been trying to frame her from the start. They then agree to team up.
Jae-oh later visits Jun-seo’s house, where he reunites with Ah-jin. The two share a warm, familiar moment while Jun-seo quietly watches. After she leaves, Jae-oh asks Jun-seo why he let him meet her, knowing full well how he feels about Ah-jin. Jun-seo simply says that Ah-jin might finally find a normal life with someone like Jae-oh.
In-gang Tells Ah-jin to Keep Her Distance
In-gang’s history becomes clearer as the two men dig deeper into his life. They discover that he carries heavy guilt over what happened to Ji-hyeok and likely struggles with depression and drinking. He lost his parents young and grew up close to his grandmother. Later, Jae-oh secretly steals the grandmother’s diary and hands it to Ah-jin, which leads her to a temple the old woman often visits.
Ah-jin then arranges a new apartment for Hyang-i in the same building where In-gang’s grandmother lives. Using the excuse of handing out rice cakes for Hyang-i, she approaches the older woman. To her surprise, the grandmother recognizes her from the temple and even invites her in to eat food prepared for her daughter’s memorial service.
However, In-gang explodes when he learns about this and drags Ah-jin outside, telling her to stay away from him. She pushes back, accusing him of choosing misery and shutting others out. After calling him a coward, she leaves. Back home, Jun-seo questions her real intentions, and she admits that she needs In-gang to reach the top.
Meanwhile, after the ceremony, even In-gang’s grandmother urges him not to isolate himself. He later breaks down in his car, unaware that Ah-jin is watching through a hidden camera.
Next, Ah-jin convinces one of In-gang’s men to set up a meeting at Ji-hyeok’s café. Once there, Ji-hyeok finally tells In-gang the truth — he knew the macaron had nuts, and he also knew that In-gang was aware of his allergy. He explains that he wanted to quit the industry anyway, so In-gang should stop blaming himself.
Ji-hyeok then reveals that Ah-jin encouraged him to speak up. Frustrated, In-gang goes to Mi-ri and insists he wants distance from Ah-jin. He also asks her to make his breakup with Le-na official.

Elsewhere, Jae-oh and Jun-seo kidnap Detective Park and threaten him with proof that his daughter used drugs in the US. As a result, Detective Park messages Reporter Lim and tells him there is no story to pursue. Jae-oh and Jun-seo also discover that the reporter is Le-na’s cousin, and she hired him to dig up dirt on Ah-jin.
Meanwhile, In-gang’s grandmother meets Ah-jin again and apologises for his harsh behaviour. She gently asks Ah-jin why she cried during the memorial, and Ah-jin answers that her mother loved bomdong — the same dish the grandmother mentioned in her diary.
Eventually, In-gang approaches Ah-jin, apologises, and asks her to join him for dinner. Ah-jin agrees, but after he leaves, she calls Jae-oh for a favour. She wants him to delay In-gang, so Jae-oh causes a minor accident with In-gang’s car and even drops the man’s phone into a gutter to stall him.
As Ah-jin waits at the restaurant, In-gang rushes over by cab and then runs the rest of the way. He spots her just as she is about to leave. He seems moved by the fact that she waited so long. When she wraps her scarf around him, he leans in and kisses her.
Dear X episode 6 Jun-seo drinks with Le-na. When he overhears a group of men insulting Ah-jin, he jumps into a fight but ends up severely hurt. The episode closes with Le-na trying desperately to wake him up.

Dear X Episode 6 Review
Dear X episode 6 keeps up the tension with Ah-jin’s careful planning and sharp manipulation. The pacing stays exciting and addictive, making it surprisingly easy to root for her despite the chaos she creates. It’s also refreshing to see the old trio — Jae-oh, Jun-seo, and Ah-jin — working together again.
Their scheme around In-gang plays out in a gripping way, though the show could explain more about why Jae-oh is so willing to help. It’s understandable that he cares about Detective Park’s situation, but helping Ah-jin set up a romance seems like a stretch. Still, that’s a small issue in an otherwise fun episode. Hwang In-youp, especially, delivers a standout performance as In-gang.
