PLBBUU
PLAVE’s second single album, PLBBUU, features three tracks, and all five members contributed to the composition and lyrics, reaffirming their status as self-producing idols.
The title track, “BBUU!”, is light and catchy. It blends R&B rhythms with playful lyrics. Its chorus uses childlike counting in a bouncy pattern, creating an addictive hook similar to their earlier hit, “Why?”. Moreover, the title “BBUU!”—a Korean onomatopoeia for the sound of light kisses—shapes both the song’s flow and choreography. This ties the music and visuals together in a fun and seamless way.
While the second track, “숨바꼭질 (Hide and Seek),” reimagines their Japanese debut with new Korean lyrics, it retains its emotional depth and signature band sound.
The album closes with “봉숭아 (Bongsoong-a),” or “balsam,” a pop track with a smooth R&B rhythm. It draws inspiration from the Korean tradition of coloring fingernails with balsam flowers in summer. According to folklore, love will come true if the color lasts until the first snowfall.
Moreover, gentle vocals and heartfelt lyrics paint a vivid picture of balsam-stained fingertips fading into snow. As the song unfolds, it captures the quiet beauty of everyday life at the start of winter. Ultimately, “Bongsoong-a” ties the album together with warmth and emotion, showing how much the group has grown musically and artistically.

PLAVE’s Record-Breaking 2025
Alongside the release of PLBBUU, 2025 has been a breakthrough year for PLAVE. After debuting in Japan with “Kakurenbo (Hide and Seek)” in June, they quickly rose to the top. Moreover, they dominated four major Japanese music charts, including Oricon and Billboard Japan. Impressively, within just one week, they sold over 388,200 copies — the highest first-week sales for any international artist in Japan this year.
In August, they kicked off their first Asia Tour. The tour included major cities such as Seoul, Taipei, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Bangkok, and Tokyo. During what was meant to be their final Seoul show, they surprised fans with encore concerts at Gocheok Sky Dome in November.
As a result, tickets sold out instantly. They became the first virtual idol group to fill two of South Korea’s top stadiums, KSPO Dome and Gocheok Sky Dome. This milestone highlighted their growing influence and popularity.
