7 Must-Watch Boys’ Love Dramas

Haven’t decided yet which Boys’ Love drama you should dive into as a first-time viewer of BL series? Here’s a simple guide to the shows you might like to consider.

The Boys’ Love series gained popularity long before I knew it, but its peak started just a few years back. With multiple stories narrated in slow pace or full-blown plots, ranging from university settings to company romances. Some even feature mafia arcs, a vampire falling in love with a human, or simply a guy being head over heels for another man.

It can be quite confusing seeing tens to hundreds of BL series in front of you. You might be asking yourself: Where should I start? Well, worry not, because this article will feature seven Boys’ Love series that will make you yearn and look for more. As a Boys’ Love enthusiast myself for over four years, these recommendations will surely not disappoint.

Warning: This article might include some spoilers for the mentioned series. Read at your own risk. Happy reading!

1. 2gether The Series (2020)

You might have come across BL fans talking about this series already. Well, I can’t blame them—2gether isn’t a show you should skip, especially if you’re just starting your BL journey.

2gether follows the story of Tine (Win Metawin) and Sarawat (Bright Vachirawit). Tine is a cheerleader at his university, while Sarawat is one of the popular guys on campus and ace of the soccer team. Desperate, Tine asks Sarawat to pretend to be his boyfriend to stop Green, a guy pursuing him, from bothering him.

At first, Sarawat declines. But due to Tine’s persistence—even joining the music club for Sarawat—he eventually agrees to the fake relationship. However, their fake love slowly turns into something real. How will Tine face his feelings, knowing he’s always been into girls?

The series also stars Mike Chinnarat, Toptap Jirakit, Drake Sattabut, Frank Thanatsaran, Khaotung Thanawat, and Love Pattranite. If you end up loving it, you can continue with its sequel, Still 2gether. Watch it on GMMTV YouTube Channel, iWantTFC, WeTV, and Viki with 13 episodes.

2. Not Me (2021)

Interested in dramas with political undertones? Or stories inspired by real-life events? If yes, then Not Me with Off Jumpol and Gun Attaphan will check every box.

This isn’t just another BL drama—it’s a deep dive into politics, family, and media. Gun Attaphan plays dual roles as Black and White, twins with a powerful connection. Separated when their parents chose different paths, they grow apart.

One day, White suddenly collapses, sensing death. He wakes up in a hospital and later learns from his childhood friend Tod that his twin is on the brink of death. To uncover who harmed his brother, White pretends to be him, suspecting one of Black’s friends—Sean, Yok, or Gram.

As he digs deeper, White discovers how little he truly knew about his brother’s life. Complicating things further, he begins to develop feelings for Sean.

With 14 episodes, Not Me combines action, mystery, and romance. Available on GMMTV YouTube Channel and iWantTFC.

3. Light On Me (2021)

This K-drama BL is perfect if you love university romances, secret crushes, and love triangles. The series stars Lee Sae On as Woo Tae Kyung, Kang You Seok as No Shin Woo, Choe Chan Yi as Shin Da On, and Go Woo Jin as Namgung Si Un. Tae Kyung, once a loner, decides to change and joins the student council.

He quickly forms a bond with Da On, but Shin Woo clearly dislikes him—at least on the surface. As Tae Kyung grows closer to Da On, Shin Woo’s feelings are revealed, creating tension and emotional confusion for everyone involved.

Light On Me has 16 episodes filled with heart-fluttering moments. Watch it on WeTV, Viki, and KOK TV.

4. SOTUS (2016)

The legend. The pillar. The classic. SOTUS, starring Krist Perawat and Singto Prachaya, is considered one of the cornerstones of BL dramas.

It follows two engineering students, Arthit and Kongpob. Their first encounter is rocky—Kongpob resists Arthit’s strict and abusive senior hazing system (SOTUS: Seniority, Order, Tradition, Unity, Spirit).

What starts as animosity slowly blossoms into affection as Kongpob’s boldness chips away at Arthit’s walls.

With 15 episodes, SOTUS remains a must-watch. Available on GMMTV YouTube Channel and WeTV.

5. Until We Meet Again (2019)

Do you believe in fate? In red strings of destiny? Or reincarnation? Until We Meet Again beautifully explores these themes. Starring Ohm Thitiwat, Fluke Natouch, Kao Noppakao, Earth Katsamonnat, Prem Warut, and Boun Noppanut, it tells the story of Pharm and Dean, who are reincarnations of two tragic lovers, Intouch and Korn.

Forbidden from being together in their past lives, Korn took his own life. Intouch, unable to bear it, followed him. Decades later, Pharm and Dean meet again, tied by the same red thread. The series has 17 episodes and is available on iQIYI, Studio Wabi Sabi YouTube Channel, and Viki.

6. Bad Buddy (2021)

Another massive GMMTV hit, Bad Buddy stars Nanon Korapat and Ohm Pawat. Pran and Pat have been rivals since childhood, pushed by their feuding families. Competing in everything—school, achievements, and talents—they grow tired of the endless battles. Secretly, they choose to be friends.

But friendship turns into something deeper. Their supposed rivalry hides a forbidden love story that will keep you hooked. Bad Buddy has 12 episodes, available on WeTV, iWantTFC, and GMMTV YouTube Channel. It also has a sequel in Our Skyy 2: Bad Buddy.

This Japanese BL rom-com, adapted from Toyota Yuu’s manga, is both charming and hilarious. It follows Adachi Kiyoshi, who gains the ability to read people’s minds once he turns 30—and realizes his co-worker, Kurosawa Yuichi, secretly likes him.

What follows is a sweet and awkward love story filled with heart and humor. With 12 episodes, the series is available on WeTV, Crunchyroll, Apple TV, Netflix, and Prime Video. It also has a sequel movie and spin-offs.
